Cambodian garment exports increase by 11.4% from January to September 2021

Ken Loo, secretary general of the Cambodia Garment Manufacturers Association, also recently told a Cambodian newspaper that despite the pandemic, clothing orders have managed to avoid slipping into negative territory.
“This year we were lucky to have some orders transferred from Myanmar. We should have been even bigger without the community outbreak on February 20,” laments Loo.
The rise in clothing exports bodes well for the country’s economic activity as other countries struggle amid severe pandemic-induced conditions, Wanak said.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia exported apparel worth US$9,501.71 million in 2020, including apparel, footwear and bags, a drop of 10.44 percent compared to US$10.6 billion in 2019.
